Senyap Dalam Gege – Khairudin Zainudin

Khairudin Zainudin’s inaugural solo exhibition “Senyap dalam Gege” opens this weekend at G13 Gallery. Identified to be Malaysia’s next emerging contemporary artist to look out for, Khairudin gives new perspective to how we view the ordinary and simple world around us. How important is routine? Will we be lost without it?

The young emerging contemporary artist will showcase eighteen pieces of his latest mixed media works on paper and canvases of various dimensions, presenting the many facets of the ordinary folks.

The Kelantan native who graduated from UiTM in 2011 has been building a steady reputation for himself with his unique approach to documenting the daily activities of the everyday Malaysians. Whether at work, rest of play, Khairudin deftly captures their various gestures and movements with his signature strokes and minimal washes of colors. By presenting their assorted actions and reactions simultaneously, overlapping the main image of his subject matter, their restless dispositions, private preoccupations and bodily expressions are on full display, underscoring the unpredictability of humans responses to situations and the complexities of human behaviour.
The exhibition will be run from 13th – 27th September 2014 at G13 Gallery, gallery opens daily from 11am to 5pm, closed on Sunday and Public Holiday. An official opening reception will be held on 20th September at 8pm onwards, the public are welcome to join.
