‘Beginnings are usually scary, endings are usually sad but it’s everything in between that makes it all worth living’. Bob Marley
Fauzin Mustafa’s idea behind Life Between Dots are based on the concept of simplicity, that to achieve simplicity is to overcome the complexities.
While dots play the role of binding the works together into this series, the role it plays vary in each work.
Origination of life and form is birthed from a dot. Spatial connectivity can be defined by dots. convergence and separation can also be visualised through the organisation of dots.
In Fauzin’s series, his philosophy and interpretation of life are expressed in each works through abstraction, in various hues of striking textured monochromatic colours representing each story, all held together by gold dots, the simplicity that binds all the complexity beyond them, and of course life.
